Format Fitter does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data,
browsing history, or website content to any server. Everything the
extension does happens locally, inside your own browser.
What the extension does
Format Fitter lets you upload a reference document once. It reads that
document's formatting values — margins, line spacing, paragraph
spacing, and first-line indentation — and lets you apply those
exact values to an editable text box you select on a webpage you're
working in.
What data is processed, and where it goes
The reference document you upload is parsed entirely in your browser. It is never uploaded to a server.
The formatting values extracted from it (margin sizes, spacing numbers, indentation) are saved using Chrome's local storage on your own device, so you can reuse them without re-uploading the file each time.
The extension only reads or modifies the styling of the specific element you explicitly select on a page — it does not read, log, or transmit page content otherwise.
No data is synced to a remote server, shared with any third party, or sold.
Permissions used
activeTab — to access the page you're currently working on, only after you click the extension icon or an in-page control.
scripting — to inject the element picker and apply formatting to the element you select.
storage — to save your formatting profiles locally on your device.
Host access — needed because the sites you use this on vary by task; the extension only acts on a page when you explicitly invoke it.
